“Even people project colors to me through their personalities.”

About Me

When I look at the world around me, instead of seeing objects or places I see personalities of color. My paintings reflect my passionate and joyful interpretation of those personalities, in colors that may not be what other people see. A green cactus becomes purple or red. When I walk through a new city or landscape, I see a new color palette. Even people project colors to me through their personalities.

I love abstract art because each person gets a different experience out of the same works. Just like watching clouds at sunset, when you hear others “oohing” and “aahing” at different moments as they see new colors during the changing dance of light.

Bio

I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah and moved to Tucson, Arizona with my husband, son and daughter in 1994 to escape the cold weather. There I fell in love with art and received my Associates Degree in Art at Pima Community College in 2005. I’ve worked in a variety of media including, black and white photography, ceramics and fiber art, but have made painting my focus. I love to travel and spent 7 years as a nomad exploring America in a 34-foot motorhome with my husband, Scott and our dog, Peanut.  After that amazing experience, we set down roots in Picture Rocks, Arizona.

Exhibtions

I’ve exhibited my work at Sho & Tel Gallery in Black Canyon City, Arizona, Pima Community College’s Louis Carl Bernal Gallery and at private group shows in Tucson.
